Paul Miller, General Manager for the Branson Tourism Center said, “As beautiful as they might be, the leaves aren’t the only things worth seeing in Branson in October.” He pointed out that, in addition to Branson’s regular full line up of shows, there are a number of other nationally recognized stars who will be performing in Branson during October and a very special event.
Miller says one of the most special October events will be the 3rd Annual Festival of Hope for MDA at the Starlite Theatre on Sunday October 11 from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. He points out it is special from not only a benefit perspective, but from an entertainment perspective as well with performances scheduled by the Baldknobbers, Clay Cooper, Country Tonite, Barbara Fairchild, The Lennon Sisters, The Liverpool Legends, Deana Martin, Bill Medley, The Platters, Ambrus Presley, The Rankin Brothers, Collin Raye, Spirit of the Dance and Kirby Van Burch. Other events scheduled during the event will include Hors D’oeuvres furnished by various Branson eateries, a raffle and live auction.
In addition, Miller points out that Oak Ridge Boys will be in Branson for selected dates during October and November at the Oak Ridge Boys Theatre through November 19. “The four-part harmonies and upbeat songs of The Oak Ridge Boys have spawned dozens of country hits and a #1 pop smash, earned them Grammy, Dove, CMA and ACM awards and garnered a host of other industry and fan accolades. Every time they step before an audience, the Oaks bring 15 years of hits and 50 years of tradition to bear on a stage show widely acknowledged as among the most exciting anywhere.”
Another legendary group “Larry Gatlin and The Gatlin Brothers” will be returning to Branson for a limited performance at the Mansion Theatre on selected dates between October 6 and 22. “The Gatlin’s have 15 Top-Five hits including their #1 hits “All The Gold In California,” “Houston (Means I’m One Day Closer To You),” “I Just Wish You Were Someone I Loved,” plus “Broken Lady,” “Night Time Magic,” “I Don’t Wanna Cry” and more.”
Country music super star and entertainer, Neal McCoy, will be returning to the Yakov Smirnoff Theatre performing his second set of Branson appearances on selected dates between October 1 and November 1.Neal has received the Entertainer of the Year award twice, won Video of the Year, has three Platinum Albums, one Gold album and nine number one hits and is one of the legends of country music.
A review on his Branson show entitled “Neal McCoy in Branson means pure nonstop entertainment” published on line in the Branson Courier said, “From the time the curtain went up, until the show was over about two hours later, it was pure entertainment. The band was excellent, his singing was great, but it was Neal’s innate ability to do just what he said he would do, ‘bring the audience into the show’ and to do it so completely that added immeasurably to the entertainment experience of the audience.”
Legendary performing artist, Righteous Brothers’ Bill Medley with Paul Revere and the Raiders will be performing their powerful mix of “blue-eyed soul”, old-time rock-n-roll, and rhythm and blues at the center of the famous Branson Strip in the Andy Williams Moon River Theatre through October 24 The Righteous Brothers’ Bill Medley had hits such as the number one hit of the Grammy Award winning Righteous Brothers’ “Unchained Melody,” “You’ve Lost that Lovin’ Feelin’” and “You’re My Soul and Inspiration?” Paul Revere and the Raiders hits include “Just Like Me,” “Hungry,” “Kicks” and “Indian Reservation.”
Lee Greenwood and the Bellamy Brothers are performing October 24 at the Welk Resort Theatre. Although best known for his hit “God Bless the USA,” Greenwood’s distinctive voice, songwriting and showmanship has been captivating audiences for decades. The two time Male Vocalist of the Year has a lengthy string of hits includeing such classics as “Ring on Her Finger, Time on Her Hands,” “It Turns Me Inside Out,” “Somebody’s Gonna Love You,” “I Don’t Mind the Thorns (If You’re the Rose)” and “Dixie Road.”
Johnny Mathis will be appearing at the Mansion Theatre on October 9 and 10. His fabulous career has spanned over half a century with hits such as “Wonderful! Wonderful!,” “It’s Not For Me To Say,” “Chances Are” (his first #1), “The Twelfth Of Never,” “No Love (But Your Love),” and “Wild Is The Wind.” He has sold more than 350 million records and albums with dozens receiving gold and platinum status and 73 making the Billboard charts.
The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band will be performing for one performance on October 23. After a career spanning 42 years from their first hit, their version of Jerry Jeff Walker’s “Mr. Bojangles” to their recently released CD “Speed of Life,” the quartet composed of Jeff Hanna, Jimmie Fadden, Bob Carpenter and John McEuen is still going strong.
The legendary Roy Clark will be performing at the Tri-Lakes Theatre October 22 through the 24th. Among his numerous vocal hits are “Yesterday, When I Was Young” and “Thank God and Greyhound.” Instrumentally he has won awards, for both guitar and banjo. Clarks show is 90 minutes and has no intermission.

the “Conway Twitty Musical Tribute Show, Marty Stewart and Connie Smith, and others all appearing in Branson for limited engagements during October. He pointed out that that the list of Branson Shows in the Branson Tourism Center Show Schedule designates “limited engagement performances” with a “Limited Engagement” banner” in the right hand column.
