The calendar may soon say “Autumn,” but there are many weeks ahead with perfect weather for enjoying Branson’s outdoor fun. One of my favorite outdoor adventures is just a few miles north of Branson on Hwy. 65 — Branson Zipline & Canopy Tours at Wolfe Mountain. Wolfe Creek Preserve is home to six zipline tours: Ozarks Explorer, Flying Prospector, Blue Streak, Canopy Adventure, Avalanche, and the Walking Tour. The adventures vary from one zipline to eight ziplines; from two suspension bridges to ten and everything in between. Time involved varies, too, from one hour to three and a half hours.
It’s a beautiful area of the Ozarks; you definitely get a bird’s eye view of the mountains, trees, and valleys! Some of the adventures include a ride in a Pinzgauer Swiss Army Troop Carrier. The Walking Tour begins with a ride up the mountain in a Pinzgauer. All the tours have trained and certified ecologically knowledgeable guides. The course was constructed by a contractor certified by the Association for Challenge Course Technology. Wolfe Creek Station, built by Amish craftsmen, has observation decks to enjoy the outdoors and watch zipliners. You’ll enjoy the gift shop filled with unique souvenirs and specialty items, crafts, jewelry … “something for everyone!”
Back in town along Branson’s famed “76 Strip,” The Track Family Fun Parks have a variety of go-kart adventures … and much more. At Track 4 is the Heavy Metal High Rise, a four-story spiral; kiddie karts; the Skycoaster 100’ super swing; Pizza World; Andy’s Frozen Custard … AND The Branson Ferris Wheel. I love to get my Andy’s “Strawanna” and then watch the spectacular Ferris Wheel light show! (Track 4 is an entire vacation itself!) Track 3 has Wild Woody and the Road Course Track, which is higher, has more elevation changes, and tighter banked curves. And Kiddie Karts! The Lumber Jack at Track 5 is Branson’s original wooden high-rise go-kart track. You can also have fun at Track 5 with indoor Glow Golf; batting cages; and the Laser Maze Challenge.
There’s fun for everyone, and you’re always close to entertaining adventures with The Track Family Fun Parks.
You can combine shopping and dining with another exciting adventure downtown at Branson Landing. Parakeet Pete’s Steampunk Balloon is at the north end of the Landing. You can’t miss it — riders are 188 feet up in the air. It’s a 360° view of Lake Taneycomo and Historic Downtown Branson. A little farther down, near the center of the Landing, is Parakeet Pete’s Waterfront Zipline. Get strapped into a comfortable seat and zip across Lake Taneycomo to the top of the bluff, and what a view as you zip back down! (Can you say “Wheee!”)
Think it’s time to eat?! My favorite restaurant at the Landing is The Paddle Wheel Pub, a floating restaurant at the south end of the Landing at Main Street Marina. There are fun water adventures at the Marina, too, like the Craig Cats and hydro bikes. The Lake Queen has a lunch sightseeing cruise; The Landing Princess has an elegant dinner cruise. The Paddle Wheel is a floating restaurant, part of the original Lake Queen here on Taneycomo. At the end of summer and long into fall, you’ll discover countless exciting ways to enjoy outdoor Branson. Let Branson Tourism Center put some ZIP into your next Branson visit!
