Branson Fishing Report -Bull Shoals Lake – K-Dock Area (Jan. 12)

I’m happy to report crappies and white bass on Bull Shoals are alive and well!

We have been catching big crappie and whites for the past month. Bull Shoals is at power pool. Compared to where it’s been, it looks and feels very low and easy to fish, I think. The channel is prominent and flats off the channel are only 4 to 12 feet deep. The channel edges and flats are what you want to key in on. Crappie at times during the day are on the these flats are in 8 to 12 feet of water on the bottom.

White bass are on the edges or just off the edge in a little deeper water.

We are also catching walleye in these spots as well as tons of black bass, most about 8 inches long. On what? White jigs is my lure of choice. 1/4th to 1/8th oz. Also using 2-inch swimming minnows using same weight jig heads in smoke, motor oil with red flake, olive and the best is a white/black laminate. We are seeing crappies up to 16 inches and weighing up to 3 pounds. Whites- lots of small whites which is good for years to come but we are also seeing some nice ones up to 2-3 pounds.

It’s going to be a very good year, I think, in all of our area lakes for whites and crappie, unless mother nature does it to us again.
