Shopping! It’s always a highlight when you travel, and we have a tip for you – when you’re in Branson, The Crystal Fish ~ Gifts of Distinction will be a shopping delight.
“Wow!” “Ooh, look at this!” These exclamations are typical reactions when visitors step into The Crystal Fish. Located at Lakeside Shoppes near the north end of Branson Landing, this exquisite shop offers a dazzling array of gifts, from fine and fancy to fun and whimsical. “Something for everyone” rings true at The Crystal Fish.
Handcrafted items by local and international artists as well as nationally known brands make the selection extraordinary. Swarovski crystal jewelry and figurines (Gorgeous mirrored crystal panther!); Spartina 449, including the new line of notes, diaries, agendas, etc.; elaborately beaded Mary Frances bags; Vera Bradley bags; and Pandora jewelry are some of the well-known brands you’ll find at The Crystal Fish.
There are also unique oil lamps from White River Candles; organic goats milk soaps; a wide variety of jewelry, including the mother-daughter ali & bird line; pottery, and all sorts of wonderful things created by Ozarks artists and artists from around the world. Home décor items, GurglePots, wind chimes, bird feeders, totes, casual apparel, gifts and accessories for wine lovers, for fishermen and lake lovers – “Life Is Better at the Lake!” Bring your gift lists; you’re sure to spot something that’s “just perfect” for a family member or friend. And of course, we’ll be surprised if you don’t find a treasure or three for yourself.
The store is a beautiful setting for the amazing variety of gifts. The Crystal Fish has a “vintage lake vibe,” with a creative, glittery, often capricious touch. “Dottie Mae II” is a bovine beauty who sports a Swarovski crystal tiara and collar. “Myrtle the Turtle” is like a chameleon, changing her color and costume with the seasons and holidays. Crystal Fish owner Linda Cherry’s husband Tim Cherry is an award-winning, world-renowned wildlife sculptor. His bronze creations are extraordinary; frequently a piece is on display. “Bubbles,” a 3×4 ft. sun perch that Tim created, is a permanent resident and store favorite. Covered with more than 3,000 Swarovski crystals, it’s quite different from the fine art bronze he usually makes!
Gifts of Distinction began in The Engler Block thirty-one years ago. For the past ten years, Branson Landing was home to the shop. Two years ago Linda Cherry bought the shop, tweaked the name, and moved to the current location. It’s convenient; you can park right at the door. And be sure you take a peek out the back door – it’s just a few feet from the lake, at the convergence of Roark Creek and Lake Taneycomo. You can feed the ducks! Local and out-of-town repeat customers enjoy The Crystal Fish atmosphere, classy yet casual and fun.
A special Swarovski event is coming up at The Crystal Fish November 13, 5-8 p.m. One of the five Swarovski designers will be at the store. From Austria, it’s one of just ten stops in the US.
Enjoy your time in Branson and be sure The Crystal Fish is on your itinerary. (And yes, they ship. “Honey, we don’t have room for all that,” doesn’t work here!)
