Christmas at the Homestead
The Branson area has always been famous for its old-fasioned hospitality.
So it only seems natural to carry those qualities on through Christmas.
Well, guess what
That's exactly what many area businesses,
including Shepherd of the Hills Homestead and Outdoor Theatre,
have started doing. 1995 marks the eighth seasonfor "A Traditional
Country Christmas" at the Shepherd of the Hills as part of
Ozark Mountain Christmas, November 9 - December 11
Wednesday
through Sunday with The Newborn King Drama at the Outdoor
Theatre at 6 p.m.
The Homestead has a breathtaking array of colorful Christmas lights.
18,000 bulbs transform Inspiration Tower into the largest "Christmas
Tree" in Southwest Missouri. Flying from the ground to the
top of the tower is a 12 foot high, 45 foot long Santa Claus,
sleigh, and reindeer
all made completely out of lights. 24,000
colored bulbs make it impossible to miss the jolly old guy! The
flag poles along the highway which normally boasts flags representing
each state do not escape the holiday cheer. Every other pole is
adorned with lights to create 24 festive multi-colored trees.
Every building is completely outlined with red lights turning
the quaint homestead into a holiday wonderland.
Don't miss the Trail of Lights, 7 nights a week 7:30 p.m. until
midnight. For more information and reservations call (417) 334-4191.
