Where in Branson can a person have more fun than there is “gold” in Fort Knox, eat a great meal, see spectacular pageantry, horsemanship and participate in some friendly competition with hundreds of others? “There’s only one place in Branson that I know of,” said Paul Miller, General Manager, Branson Tourism Center. ‘Dolly Parton’s Dixie Stampede,’ one of Branson’s most popular attractions and shows.” Miller also points out that as Dixie Stampede opens its 2010 season it is also starting its 16th season in Branson.”
John Richardson, Director of Sales & Marketing, Dixie Stampede said, “We’re just about having fun.” He explained that while retaining those features that most of their guests like from year to year, they try to add something new each year to give repeat visitors an exciting and fresh reason to come back. For 2010 they are adding the exciting “Gold Rush Jubilee” segment to the show.
It will add new music, comedy and sets as the show celebrates our nation’s western expansion Dixie Stampede style. That means fun, music, horses, long horn cattle, the beautiful aerial spectacle of the “Spirit of the Bird” and “hootin’ and hollerin’ as cowboys enter the arena on horseback and an elaborate dance hall stage descends from the ceiling. Next, a different kind of “gold digger” shows up!” Can it be a spectacular entry into the arena via zip line by Prospector Skeeter, the shows comedian, as he discovers the “golden nugget” from which the “Gold Rush Jubilee” blossoms?
Even better, while all this great entertainment is taking place, the audience is enjoying a wonderful four course dinner. The show and the food leads into the same great friendly “North” versus “South” competition that Dixie Stampede is famous for and the show concludes with a unique red white and blue patriotic finale with horses, riders, spectacular costuming and the all the pageantry Dixie Stampede is noted for.
Richardson also said that thanks to the Fall Creek Extension, it is now easier than ever to get into and out of Dixie Stampede. In addition to the main entrance off of the famous “Branson Strip,” Highway 76, there is now a new entrance off of Fall Creek Road to the east that is located just north of the stop light at the intersection of Fall Creek Road and Highway 76.
