Well it’s summer and the pattern hasn’t changed much. On these hot days I guide for the first hours of daylight then I go home and do maintenance on my fishing reels. I try and clean them 2 times a year at least.

Here are a couple of tips I think will help you extend the life of your reels .
First – when you take your reels apart to clean them I like to put a WHITE towel under the reel when I take it apart. This allows you to take the parts off the reel and if they fall on the  towel they will not bounce and most parts are dark and will show up on the white towel. Also when you lube your reels remember. If its a slow moving part use grease and if it’s a fast moving part use oil. But on both use VERY VERY little. Good luck.
