About The Shepherd of the Hills
Celebrating its 65th Anniversary in 2025, The Shepherd of the Hills Outdoor Drama has been delighting audiences with a true-to-novel adaptation, containing romance, action, mystery, and so much more. To commemorate its 65th anniversary, Shepherd of the Hills will create all-new events, and a special performance in Thurman Outdoor Theater.
The Shepherd of the Hills, published in 1907 by Harold Bell Wright, is the story of a minister who sought healing in the fresh, clean air of the Ozarks. The novel celebrated the essence of Mutton Hollow, which would later have an incredible impact on the United States and the birth Branson, Missouri’s history as we know it today. Today you can see Harold Bell Wright’s desk inside Old Matt’s Cabin and visit Inspiration Point where the book was authored.
Pumpkins Aglow: Branson’s Enchanted Night Experience
Step into the magic of autumn with Pumpkins Aglow, Branson’s newest fall-themed night walk and glowing outdoor adventure. Set to return for the 2025 season from September 20 through October 26, this family-friendly event is the perfect seasonal add-on—available for just $12 with a main ticket.
When daylight fades, the enchanted trail will come to life and guests can wander through thousands of illuminated pumpkins, charming fall displays, and glowing surprises at every turn. The event begins at 6 PM, with timed entry into the trail. Open Fridays through Sundays, with select Wednesdays and Thursdays included.
