“There’s simply nothing like the experience people will have at The Paddlewheel anywhere else on Branson Landing or, for that matter, anywhere in Branson,†said Lianne Milton, the co-owner of the Paddlewheel with her husband Larry. “Where else can a person, and their family, actually sit, inside or outside, on beautiful Lake Taneycomo, amid the constantly changing beauty of nature’s show bursting out all around them; while relaxing, having fun, and enjoying the food and beverages of their choice together?†she asked.
Milton points out that unlike many other eating establishments at Branson Landing, there is no long walk from the parking lot or parking garage to The Paddlewheel. Its new location, with Main Street Lakes Cruises’ Lake Queen and Landing Princess, on Lake Taneycomo, with immediate, convenient, and level access off of the Branson Landing Boardwalk from the Bass Pro parking lot, offers the utmost in convenient access to The Paddlewheel’s family friendly environment and magnificent views of Lake Taneycomo.
The menu, featuring many items, is based on the fun concept of shareable items. Even the names themselves are fun and have nautical themes, including such mouth-watering items as the “Captain,†chicken wings tossed in your choice of sauce; “Land Lubber,†three sliders, grilled beef or chicken, on an artisan roll; “Shore Leave,†a delicious Spinach Salad made with fresh spinach, strawberries, pecans, and Gorgonzola, with raspberry vinaigrette dressing; and many more.
Milton is especially proud of the freshness of the ingredients used and the fact that many of the items are made in house from scratch. The pizza dough used in their “Wheelhouse Flat Bread Pizza;†the fresh hand pressed beef patties used in the “Land Lubber,†sliders; and the fresh marinated in-house chicken wings of the “Captain†are just a few examples of the what diners at The Paddlewheel can expect.
The Paddlewheel features a full line of beverages, with something for the whole family. Its large list of beers includes selections from Bud and Miller Lite to Corona, Dos Equis (XX) Lager, Lagunitas, and craft beers. Along with a full line of specialty drinks, it also offers an extensive wine list, including some higher end wines, all of which are available by the bottle and many of which are available by the glass. Their beverages menu also includes a full line of Coke products.
Why not add some fun and entertainment while enjoying great food and drink? Another unique aspect of the The Paddlewheel is that it’s Branson’s only “floating entertainment hub,†offering excitement, and fun for the whole family. It has pool tables, dart boards, simulated golf, and a Jukebox, so that you can hear the music that you want to hear. You can end your week on a high note when The Paddlewheel steps up the fun by featuring live music on Friday and Saturday nights.
There are two more unique aspects, one historical and one temperature related. Although extensively renovated and beautifully refurbished, The Paddlewheel itself is actually the original “Lake Queen Paddle Wheeler†that was a popular Branson attraction for decades prior to the development of Branson Landing. In addition, guests enjoying themselves on the outside deck will notice a considerable temperature difference, up to 10 degrees cooler in the summer, as opposed to what it is in the parking lot, about 175 feet away, because of the cold water resulting from the generation of hydro-electric power at Table Rock Dam. Fire pits will be added in the fall to help take the “nip†out of the cooler weather.
The Paddlewheel is open at 11:00 AM seven days a week with live entertainment planned during the evening hours on Friday and Saturday. For more information, call 417-239-3980 or visit its website, Www.ThePaddlewheel.Com.
