“Getting to Branson now has another low cost option,” said Sharon Budnick, Director, Branson Travel Agency, a subsidiary of Branson Tourism Center, one of Branson’s largest and most respected vacation planning services and sellers of Branson show tickets, attraction tickets and lodging. “Frontier has announced extremely low introductory fares for flights to and from Branson and there are some great deals.”
Sharon continues, “Earlier this week, Frontier announced its introductory prices for its new fights between Denver International Airport (DEN) and Branson Airport (BKG).” The extremely low $79.00 one way fare, $158.00 round trip, applies to tickets purchased by April 15 for travel by September 28 and requires a 14 days advanced purchase.” She also points out that the introductory fares, with the same conditions applying, provide extremely low fares to and from Branson from other western cities such as one way fares from Las Vegas for $99.00, Los Angeles for $109.00, Phoenix $99.00 and Seattle for $119.00. and San Francisco for $109.00.
The new Frontier service to Branson is scheduled to be offered four days a week, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday on Embraer Regional (E-190) Jets that hold approximately 99 passengers. The flight is scheduled to depart Denver at 11:05 a.m. and arrive in Branson at 1:52 p.m. and depart Branson at 2:30 p.m. to arrive in Denver at 3:30 p.m. Sharon notes that the timing of the Denver flight to Branson will enable those traveling to Branson from the west to leave in the morning and be enjoying all that Branson has to offer by early afternoon.
In addition to the Frontier flights to Branson, United Airlines currently has multiple daily flights between Denver International Airport and Springfield-Branson National Airport (SGF) giving air travelers to Branson even more scheduling flexibility. Sharon notes however, that as of this date, United’s website does not indicate that it is matching Frontier’s fares. A comparison of flights for Branson passengers to and from Denver departing on May 11 and returning May 18 would be a basic round trip fare of $418.00 on United through SGF as compared to $175.00 on Frontier through BKG.
She did point out however, that in 2009, when service was announced between Branson and Dallas, air travelers to Branson benefited whether they flew into the Springfield-Branson National Airport (SGF) or the Branson Airport (BKG) because of the lower fares resulting from competing carriers. “Whether that will happen or not in this case is anyone’s guess she said, “but one thing is for sure, those wanting to avail themselves of the low Frontier fares must act before April 15.”
She reminds Branson air travelers, especially those traveling with young children to consider not only the lowest air fare, but scheduling that provides for back up fights in the event a connection is missed and minimizes long delays between connecting flights.
